Angela Markakis, B.A., LL.L., LL.B.

Angela founded Markakis & Co. Inc. in 2018, after having practiced law as an associate and partner in major and reputable regional firms in Québec.
During her practice, Angela has focused on civil and commercial litigation. Angela pleads regularly before the Superior Court (both in Civil and Commercial Chambers), Court of Appeal and Court of Québec as well as before many administrative tribunals. Her areas of expertise include contractual breaches, commercial leasing and real estate, shareholder disputes, extraordinary remedies such as injunctive relief and safeguard orders, estate disputes and employment cases on the employer’s side and high-ranking individuals. In the context of these areas of expertise, Angela represents individuals and small and medium sized businesses, which include members of First Nations.
Angela also provides her clients with strategic business advice either in anticipation of a dispute or through the regular course of their business. As such, the relationship with clients is beyond one of simple service rendering and focuses more on the growth and value provided to clients.
Sarah Bennett, LL.B.

Sarah is an attorney at Markakis & Co inc. She joined the team in 2018 as a law student and completed her bar internship in 2021.
As part of her studies, Sarah seized the opportunities to study law abroad, taking courses at the China University of Political Science and Law in 2018 as well as the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2019. During her bachelor, Sarah also obtained three honourable mentions as well as the Bar of Montreal’s award of excellence in civil law.
Sarah now practices civil and commercial litigation at the firm and pleads regularly before the Superior Court and the Court of Québec. Sarah favours a human approach and solutions that meet her clients’ needs in the context of their disputes.
Katyana Shum-Tim, LL.B.
Lawyer Bar 2026
Katyana first joined the firm as a student in 2023. She subsequently completed her bar internship with the firm and now practices as a lawyer since 2026.
During her studies in law, Katyana volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. She also completed two semesters abroad as an exchange student at the University of Luxembourg, where she was awarded the Guillaume Dupaix Scholarship.
Katyana is currently pursuing a common law degree as she continues to develop her practice in civil and commercial litigation at the firm.
